Paws 'n' Claws

The place for pets, and their owners

Bundles of joy

December
16

Once again, I shamelessly attempt to tap into your seasonal spirit and ask that you open your hearts and homes to these babies. Here’s the info from the SPCA of Westchester:
These are very special kittens. Not only are they cute, but they tested  FIV-positive. They will be re-tested soon and hopefully the test will be negative. But even if they stay positive, they still need a good family. They can’t pass anything on to people or dogs (only other cats) and will have a happy and long life.  They are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee is $105. Meet them at the SPCA of Westchester, 590 N. State Road, Briarcliff Manor. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Call 914-941-2896, Ext. 11.

About this blog
For most animal lovers, pets are members of the family. They carry around pictures in their wallets and schedule vacations with pets in mind. This blog takes a look into the world of a pet owner: the good, the bad and the just plain obsessive.

About the author
Laurel Babcock is the Community Life editor for The Journal News, Express Publications and LoHud.com. She grew up with a beloved mutt and was surrounded by dogs into young adulthood. She liked cats enough, but didn't really think of them as true pets. That changed when her brother brought an abandoned 4-week-old kitty into the family, dooming us all. Laurel currently serves as staff for two completely adored cats, Stanley and Cup, both girls.
