Paws 'n' Claws

The place for pets, and their owners

Dear Santa…

November
30

What P&C would like for the holidays is for these pets, and many many more, to get adopted and find loving homes. Here’s a couple of cuties for your consideration.

A Maine Coon-like cat with a most wonderful temperament, Max puts his paws around your neck to give hugs then nibbles on your fingers to ask for patting. Always good-natured and playful, Max is people oriented but not dependent. He is relaxed, companionable kitty who loves children, dogs and other cats. Max has a long, luxurious blue-gray coat, ending in a bushy tail that is very much Maine Coon. His face tends more toward his Angora ancestors, with a soft expression and radiant eyes. Max is neutered, immunized, micro-chipped, blood tested and healthy. His adoption fee is $95. Visit www.putnamfelines.org.max13

Rudy is a handsome guy who has been at the Putnam Humane Society for some time. The shelter doesn’t know why he gets overlooked, but he’s really a wonderful boy! He’s a bit strong and gets excited when first going out for a walk, but once he’s out and about, he’s easy to be with.
Rudy is up to date on his vaccinations and is neutered. Meet him at Putnam Humane, Old Route 6, Carmel. Call 845-225-7777.Rudy

Scooter is a 40-pound border collie/corgi mix who is about 1-1/2 years old. He is a sweet and friendly handsome boy with short legs and an adorable loving face. Scooter is house trained and gets along with other dogs. A loving home with no little kids would be best for him. Scooter is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, de-wormed, heartworm tested and micro-chipped. His adoption fee is $200. To adopt Scooter, visit www.NY-PetRescue.org or contact Larchmont Pet Rescue at 914-834-6955. scooter

Won-Ton is a 4-month-old, one-eyed kitten who is very outgoing and friendly. He loves the company of people and other cats. He requires no additional medical care.  Won-Ton would make a great addition to any family.  He is neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $105. Visit Won-Tn at the SPCA of Westchester, 590 N. State Road, Briarcliff Manor. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Call 914-941-2896, Ext. 11.Won-Ton_2734

Scooter’s eyes are too cute. Maybe a bit sad. He needs home..

About this blog
For most animal lovers, pets are members of the family. They carry around pictures in their wallets and schedule vacations with pets in mind. This blog takes a look into the world of a pet owner: the good, the bad and the just plain obsessive.

Laurel Babcock is the Community Life editor for The Journal News, Express Publications and LoHud.com. She grew up with a beloved mutt and was surrounded by dogs into young adulthood. She liked cats enough, but didn't really think of them as true pets. That changed when her brother brought an abandoned 4-week-old kitty into the family, dooming us all. Laurel currently serves as staff for two completely adored cats, Stanley and Cup, both girls.
