Nora, live Saturday from Westchester Cat Show

Just a reminder to tune to P&C tomorrow to watch Nora the piano-playing cat, who will be live streamed at the Westchester Cat Show in White Plains. She’s the 2009 ASPCA Cat of the Year! I’ll post again tomorrow with the link. The fun starts at 1 p.m.
Here’s how the event is supposed to go down according to my cat show contact. It’s being billed as Shelter Aid, like Willie Nelson’s “Farm Aid” concerts:
Betsy Alexander, who is Nora’s human assistant (owner, mother, etc.) will be with us at the County Center
to accept Nora’s award. Nora will be with us via the magic of the Web. After the award presentation, Betsy will play guitar and sing a song (or two). We will project the live video call with Nora on a screen for all to see, and our hope is that Nora, seeing and hearing Betsy and the crowd, will be inspired to join in and play the piano.
The proceedings will be broadcast live and video streamed for all the world to see. It will also be recorded so
people who missed the live version can watch the recording. Folks then can, if they wish to, go to www.westchester-feline.org and make a contribution to Shelter Aid. Any donations received will be given to shelters and rescue groups.
Me here again: This is a new and big undertaking for the show. I hope it goes well. Sadly, I can’t be there because of a scheduling conflict, but I hope you all tune in, and help….
P.S. I love cat people….only they (we) would refer to a cat’s owner as their “human assistant!”

That sounds like fun. what a talented cat! I would be happy with one that used the litter box EVERY time. I came across another talented cat. Although the story is fictitious, its a funny read just the same. http://www.thespoof.com/news/spoof.cfm?headline=s4i57880

MAKO,
He was old. I think at least 10. He had major issues when he was a kitten, they didnt think he was going to make it. I think my parents fed him some ice cream and unknowingly gave him a saccarin(sp) OD. one of the sugar substitutes is very very bad for cats. Anyway he pulled through and was treated like an absolute prince his entire life. He was very much a part of their family and he knew it. Such an attitude!
I am more of a dog person. I have 2 Cocker Spaniels. Sassy Moe (16) and Casey May (5). Sassy is the Alpha and she loves beig outside, she is a good dog and I will miss her terribly when shes gone. Casey is the brat that loves to be under your feet. She has the cutest face and an extremely sweet personality. She’s my buddy, my drinking partner so to speak. I have to watch my wine glass when she is around. I will definitely post a couple of pics of my girls when i get home.
A horse walks into a bar. Bartender says “Hey, pal, why the long face?”
Jlone, send me photos!
Izzy, that joke is as old as you. You can do better.
