Paws 'n' Claws

The place for pets, and their owners

Adopt me please

October
26

It’s been woefully too long since I put out a plea here for adoptions, so shame on me, and I shall do better from now on. But these 3 cats struck me for two different reasons today. First, I used to have an orange cat named Puck, and this one has been abandoned by selfish two-footers (yes, I said it). Second, what are the odds I’d get two e-mails related to Turkish Vans inside of one week, when I’d never even heard about this breed?
So, first, Puck:puck<a href=1” title=”puck1” width=”300” height=”214” class=”aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3651” />

Puck is a very handsome, friendly cat who was adopted from the Putnam Humane Society nine years ago, but was recently returned by his owners because they just got a dog and didn’t want Puck anymore. Puck can’t believe his family would do that to him after being with them for so long. They said he didnt get along with the dog, but Puck knows that in time he and the dog would learn to accept each other, even if it just meant keeping out of each other’s way.
Puck is a favorite at the shelter because of his sweet and affectionate nature. He is up-to-date on all his vaccinations, neutered and micro-chipped. Meet him at the Putnam Humane Society, Old Route 6, Carmel. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends. Call 845-225-7777.

Now, Val and William. Note, these aren’t full-sized Vans, but resemble them, so if you’re not looking for a beast-sized cat, no worries. (But try to take home both. I hate separated siblings, and two are just as easy as one, trust me).valandwilliam

Here’s just Val.val

Val and his brother William are 2-year-old handsome males who have the look of Turkish Van cats, white with black spots and a black tail. Both boys are busybodies, exploring every corner and height when they are not resting all wound up around each other. Val and William are real charmers — true flirts with playful and sociable personalities. These elegant cats would be a marvelous asset in any feline-friendly home. Neutered, in excellent health and up-to-date with all vaccinations, the adoption donation is $75 for either Val or William. Visit them at www.NY-PetRescue.org or call 914-834-6955.

Go forth and adopt. And let me know if you do. Thanks.
