Help find Neo…he’s lost

July
31

Please read this in case you were in the area and can help this bereaved man. This is not your average looking dog, so if you’ve seen him or have him…here’s Neo’s picture, then the story (you can read more in tomorrow’s Journal News or on LoHud.com):

This poor boy is probably so scared….

A 16-month-old rescue dog who slipped away while he and his owner were hiking in Harriman State Park two days ago is still missing.

Raymond LeVier, the owner, said Neo was curbed for most of the hike, but he unleashed the dog at about 1:30 p.m. as they climbed up a steep hill on the Hillburn Torne Sebago trail. Neo stumbled on the incline and that seemed to spook him, LeVier said, and he bolted.

“He was gone within 30 seconds,” said LeVier, 39, of West Nyack, a drummer by profession. “I kept calling him. He wouldn’t come … The more I went after him, the more he ran away.”

LeVier, who adopted Neo three months ago, said he had been looking for the dog since the afternoon of July 29, and has contacted several police departments for assistance. Neo is a a cross between a rat terrier and a miniature greyhound, and weighs 27 pounds.

Me: I don’t have his contact info, but if you can help, please call your local shelter, alert them to this story, and help Ray and Neo get back together. Thanks.

    Thanks Leslie,
That was my husband who lost the dog. We are hiking long hours at the time and doing everything we can. Is nice to hear that someone else also cares…..
