June

No surprise here to me

June

An Associated Press-Petside.com poll released Tuesday found that half of all American pet owners consider their pets as much a part of the family as any other person in the household.

Well, duh. A story about the poll is after the jump. You can learn more about it here. Read more of this entry »

Holy moly! No wonder why they call this cat “Monster”

June
23

What follows are photos of a Russian wild cat that P&C contributor CCCP found on his laptop. He (the cat) is beyond being a gorgeous and handsome beast, he is truly monstrous!
CCCP suggested some amusing captions for the pics, which I’ll share for the first few. As you proceed, there will surely be some thoughts that go through your own heads. I’ll just let the pics speak their 1,000 words. To start, I give you, Monster:

I know what Stanley and Cup would say if they met this guy. “GET ME OUTTA HERE!!!) Read more of this entry »

Perhaps kitty will have something to smile about soon

June
23

Rumor has it the rain may actually end by Thursday and the weekend will be warm and sunny. Wouldn’t that be a lovely gift! And maybe it will cheer up Mr. Grumpy here, who is apparently tired of water, water everywhere.

Is there anything cuter than sleeping kitties?

June
22

Maybe sleeping pups, too, but this just gets to me every time. I know I’ve posted related pics before, but I could not resist these of Stanley. In another one of her favorite places (she has many) a pillow on my couch that she has commandeered. Adorableness!

Sweet dreams baby.

Have a home for rescued cats?

June
21

Got this heart-warming yet sad story that needs a happy ending from Cat Assistance, which is seeking homes for the amazing kitties featured in the story below. If you have home for either one, or preferably both, or know of someone who does, please pass this on. First, photos of Santos then Marmie.

And before we continue, major kudos to the Scarsdale family for helping to save these cats….. Read more of this entry »

Why two-leggers tick me off

June
21

A mailbox? Really, a mailbox!!! Sigh. Who would do this to this 100 percent adorable kitten. This from the AP:

BOSTON – Officials said a two-pound, eight-week-old kitten was dropped in a public mailbox in Boston and later found unharmed among envelopes and packages. According to the MSPCA Animal Care and Adoption Center, the kitten they’re calling “Postina” likely was stuffed Friday through a small opening of the mailbox and dropped several feet below.

A U.S. Postal Service letter carrier discovered Postina on Saturday during a scheduled afternoon pick-up.

The MSPCA is offering Postina for adoption after several days of nourishment and a round of vaccinations.

Animal abandonment in Massachusetts is punishable by up to a $2,500 fine and 5 years in prison.

The MSPCA said there has been a 48 percent increase in pet owners citing financial reasons for surrendering their pets.

This is the best, most hysterical site, and I hesitate in giving it to you because I intend to remember to crib from here and give you fun pics more often. In the meantime, here are two:

And, I love this one. As Diane says, it looks like Stanley! Which is true, but Stanley would be under the bed if a dog came near…

P.S. if you missed it. see previous post about Diane and cat trapping.
