Local vet joins Animal Planet show

If you take your pets to Dr. Rich Goldstein in New Rochelle, then you may want to tune in to this show. Or tune in even if you have another vet. Goldstein is an on-air mentor for this season’s Housecat House show on Animal Planet….

I quote here from the forwarded news release:

Season Premiere: Housecat Housecall on Animal Planet; June 6th – New York veterinarian joins cast – Several families and their cats from NY/NJ featured. June is Adopt-A-Cat Month.

Cat owners looking for practical and useful advice to help resolve matters that they have with their favorite pet once again have a place to turn for help – “Housecat Housecall™”.
Beginning June 6, Housecat Housecall, one of the first feline reality-based programs, will return to Animal Planet for a second season. The weekly show, presented by Purina Cat Chow, profiles cat-owning families as they work with veterinarians to resolve their most pressing feline situations.
From power struggles to safety issues, “Housecat Housecall” features real cats, real people and real veterinarians working through a wide range of common cat behaviors.
New episodes of “Housecat Housecall” will air over a six-week period on Saturdays beginning June 6 at 10:30 a.m. E/P with weekly “encores” each Sunday at 8 a.m. E/P.

For most animal lovers, pets are members of the family. They carry around pictures in their wallets and schedule vacations with pets in mind. This blog takes a look into the world of a pet owner: the good, the bad and the just plain obsessive.

Laurel Babcock is the Community Life editor for The Journal News, Express Publications and LoHud.com. She grew up with a beloved mutt and was surrounded by dogs into young adulthood. She liked cats enough, but didn't really think of them as true pets. That changed when her brother brought an abandoned 4-week-old kitty into the family, dooming us all. Laurel currently serves as staff for two completely adored cats, Stanley and Cup, both girls.
