Spring animal blessing season is underway

April
30

The first one I know of is happening Sunday at the Hammond Musuem & Japanese Stroll Garden, 28 Deveau Road in North Salem.
There seemed to be a lot of interest in these last fall, so if you know of any, please post the information here. Thanks.
Here’s a photo from last year’s event at Hammond:

I like the two dogs to the right getting to know each other. Details of the event after the jump… Read more of this entry »

Love love love warm weather

April
29

Moving on….Until I continue to get back on track post time off (and my heartbreak, alas) I give you the girls enjoying the start of spring (or summer, as it’s felt like for a couple of days).
As I believe I’ve explained before, my indoor kitties only have my terrace on which to sniff and explore the world. They love it. As soon as they hear the door open, they are there. Here is Stanley. She is saying, can we go out, please, please…. Read more of this entry »

Reason 624 to love pets

April
29

They heal and bounce back quickly, reminding you of what’s important in life. And, as Linda Ellerbee famously said, so it goes…
If you missed the previous post, check it out so you will understand this one.
This is darling Stanley, making me laugh, and saying, “Mom, life goes on. Shall we do a crossword puzzle?”

Thanks baby. P.S. Note to readers. Don’t go looking for the first 623 reasons to love pets. They don’t exist here yet. I just thought it’d be funnier with a higher number. Kinda kills the joke though, huh, explaining it.
Care to submit the first 623? I’ll post them…..

Stanley and Cup (and mom) are sad

April
28

Sigh. I hate this day when it comes. Perhaps some of you P&C readers will be glad that the Rangers season is over and we can get back to regular P&C business. But, hey, what’s you get when the blog runner has cats named Stanley and Cup. Sigh. I am sad. Yes, we lost.
Here is Cup being sad:

She is saying, do not talk to me, do not even look at me. I mean it.

Here is Stanley being sad:

She is saying, Mom, just let me curl up here and cry for a while please.

Stanley and Cup and I will recover (though today I would like them named Fred and Plate to be honest, less reminder). I would just like to give a hearty shout out to my fellow fans (Rangers, I mean, I’m not that egotistical) for stopping by these past few weeks and adding your kitties and comments to this blog.
I hope we stay in touch over the summer….guys, you need something to keep your minds off our pain :)
I still have the Let’s Go Rangers chant in my head. Girls, it’s time for you to cuddle mum….

Digging out

April
27

Hey all, this is what I’ve been doing so far today after being off a week:

Yes, I’m digging out of the hole (though technically I guess these guys are digging in the hole, but we here at P&C are not that literal).

Hope to be dug out and cleaned off for more news asap….

My time off, and a curious cat

April
27

The first part of my week off was chores, chores, chores, including, and I know most of you have been through this, the dreaded cleaning out and reorganizing of closets and dressers. Well, I’m thrilled to have it done, but while doing so, little Miss I Must Get Into Everything gave me this photo op:

There is Cup, sniffing around an empty drawer. Thanks sweetie, like I don’t have enough cat hair on everything I own already.

Shibby, he equals cool

April
27

Oh my, does he ever. Just look at these pics. This cat knows he rules. Close up please!

These pictures are courtesy of my fellow Rangers fan (I shan’t give his name away) who goes by CCCP on the Rangers blog. They both are from Odessa. Is the blogosphere not the coolest way to meet people or what?! Here’s another pic of Shibby, followed by more and his story from CCCP after the jump (I asked Shib’s dad for info and he provided. Thanks!) P.S. I call this photo, “I can kick your butt at yoga. Meow.” Read more of this entry »

About this blog
For most animal lovers, pets are members of the family. They carry around pictures in their wallets and schedule vacations with pets in mind. This blog takes a look into the world of a pet owner: the good, the bad and the just plain obsessive.
