Earth Month celebration at Bronx Zoo

Nine-year-old singing sensation Skylar May Earth Month / Earth Expo Representatives Wildlife Conservation Society Staff

WHAT: It’s a party for the planet at WCS’s Earth Month celebration throughout April.
Spring out the weeks of April 6-10 and April 13-17 plus every Saturday and Sunday: April 4 & 5, 11 & 12, 18 & 19 and April 15 & 26
Plus a special Wildlife Conservation Society Run for the Wild on April 25.

What better place than the Bronx Zoo to represent all things “green” from its amazing animal ambassadors to an Earth Expo that showcases green products,
services and technology. Entertainment, eco-sculpture from recycled materials, crafts, costumed characters, Wildlife Theater Player performances, plus lots more
fun activities.

Tiki Barber will be on-hand and has generously made available a Tiki Recreation playground on the zoo’s Giraffe Lawn. Working together with the KOMPAN Play Institute, Tiki has focused his energy to help build the next generation of healthy kids through their campaign called “Building Generation Play.”

Skylar May is a singing, song-writing dynamo, who will be performing and officially debuting “Reach Out” a song written especially for the Wildlife Conservation Society. She will be joined by her singers: Ashley Rose, Paige Montanaro, Lauren Jenkins, Nicole Salamone, Tara Cartier, and Denise Salamone.

John Calvelli, Wildlife Conservation Society Executive Vice President for Public Affairs will highlight WCS’s work to save wildlife and wild lands.

WHERE: Bronx Zoo – Astor Court

DIRECTIONS: Bronx River Parkway to Exit 7W Fordham Road; continue up ramp, turning left onto Southern Boulevard; next light turn left onto E. Fordham Road;

at next light turn right into Rainey Gate.

She liked cats enough, but didn't really think of them as true pets. That changed when her brother brought an abandoned 4-week-old kitty into the family, dooming us all.
