Tired of Stanley yet?

February
27

Hope not, cause she’s my photogenic sweetie, and I just can’t help it…Regardless, P&C fans, I do apologize for the slow week. Work, illness, etc. has kept me from my due diligence, but spring and daylight savings time (yay!) are upon us soon, so giddyup.

In the meantime, a picture……of my baby. Read more of this entry »

More Stanley on the door

February
27

So, here’s the deal with Stanley on the kitchen door. I don’t why it is, it just is. If you saw the photo of her on the fridge, then picture the door just around the corner of the wall to her left. She somehow manages to work herself around and climb up on the teeniest ledge and just sits there.

When she’s just amusing herself, it’s fine. It becomes very annoying when she chooses to mewl her head off, which is my Pavlovian signal to get up and carry her down, which she’s perfectly able to do herself. Usually, the mewling takes place just when I’ve settled down on the couch to read or do a crossword puzzle. I think she does that on purpose. Boy, am I trained or what.

Tell me…how has your pet “trained” you?

Stanley on the door

February
26

I’ll explain tomorrow, but here’s a preview of Stanley on the kitchen door, as I hinted at in a recent post. Good balance kitty! Amazing and annoying at the same time.

Kids doing good for shelter

February
26

We often get requests/complaints here at the paper to cover less bad news and more good news. Well, news is what news is most days, but here’s some good news courtesy of the Katonah-Lewisboro school district, on behalf of the SPCA of Westchester. Good going kids! Read more of this entry »

Sick as a dog

February
25

Why do they say sick as a dog and not sick as a cat? This comes to mind today since I’ve been hit with whatever has been going around, and also had the pleasure of being woken up today not by my alarm, but the melodious sounds of Cup and the results of a hairball. Lovely. Definitely no treats for her this morning.

On that pretty note, sorry for the lack of posts since Monday. I aim to be back in the game tomorrow. For now, off to bed….

Who spent the weekend going to the dogs?

February
23

The Rock-Wall Winter Classic dog show in Rockland, to be precise. The show, an American Kennel Club-approved competition, drew some 4,000 dogs of 150 breeds from about 20 states. Yow. That’s a lot of kibble. You can read about in today’s Journal News or here. In the meantime, some snaps from the show by Journal News photographer Angela Gaul:

Taz, a hairless Chinese Crested pooch from Hewitt, N.J. Read more of this entry »

Is there anything cuter than a sleeping kitty?

February
23

Except perhaps a sleeping puppy. But I don’t have a puppy. So you get a curled up snoozing cat. Too cute. And real up close, even cuter.

Do commercials make you cry?

February
23

Oh come on, yes they do, some of them. While watching the (blah, semi boring) Oscars, this old commercial came on and, well, what can I say. Couldn’t find the whole thing in one link, but I dare you not to follow through. Sniff. Here’s the start. Read more of this entry »

Stanley

February
22

Cup got her 15 minutes of fame a while back, and now it’s Stanley’s turn. While going through the pics from the West Coast trip, found these that I took of Stanley being adorable.

While this perch doesn’t exactly let her view the world, for whatever reason that is uniquely hers, Stan love going on top of the fridge. Where she goes from there is a whole other story to come another time. All I’ll say now is, note the verrry thin door by her ear. Hey baby! Any yoga fans out there? I’ve just started. Here is why this move is called upward cat (I think). Anyway, note the stretch. Now here we go closer… Read more of this entry »

And we say goodbye to the West Coast

February
20

Boy, I wish I had a place big enough for three cats and a dog. Imagine, a whole room just to keep litter boxes and food in! And just letting the dog out the door to go! Bliss!

Then again, maybe I don’t want to clean up after four animals?
At any rate, here’s the last of the random vacation pics. Hope you enjoyed….

Spam explores luggage. Is that East Coast kitty I smell?Prince actually lets me get a shot. Thanks buddy. And one of my all time favorites…Spam loves paper products. Here she is caught in the act with a paper towel. What? We just sitting here being good.
