Stanley says goodbye to Sam (for Rangers fans)

January
31

Obviously, from the names of my cats, you get that I’m a hockey fan. But what I really am is a Rangers fan, which longtime P&C readers know from my very first post.

I linked you then to my (now former) colleague and friend Sam Weinman’s Rangers Report blog here on LoHud. Well, to my great sadness, Sam has left us to be a senior editor for the Web site at Golf Digest. Here is Stanley reacting to the news…what?!?!

In fact, she’s bugging me right now as I type while listening to Sam on the nyrangerscast…As a fan, I am not totally despaired though, because my buddy and stellar former and now current Rangers reporter Rick Carpinello (Carp!) is back again. And he was kind enough to post the above highlighted link on Rangers Report for the last listen to Sam on the Rangers before he goes all golf.

P.S. Sam, if you see this, I’m glad Charlie liked the Zamboni, and his message was great! Here’s Stanley again showing her upset by taking it out on the scratchy post…For female P&C fans only: Yeesh, just realized it’s a good thing I got a pedicure today what with my toes in the shot…

About this blog
For most animal lovers, pets are members of the family. They carry around pictures in their wallets and schedule vacations with pets in mind. This blog takes a look into the world of a pet owner: the good, the bad and the just plain obsessive.

About the author
Laurel Babcock is the Community Life editor for The Journal News, Express Publications and LoHud.com. She grew up with a beloved mutt and was surrounded by dogs into young adulthood. She liked cats enough, but didn't really think of them as true pets. That changed when her brother brought an abandoned 4-week-old kitty into the family, dooming us all. Laurel currently serves as staff for two completely adored cats, Stanley and Cup, both girls.
