Back to school sad time for one family

August

Alice Gomstyn, a staff writer for The Journal News, reported today on a family’s decision to find new homes for its beloved peacocks after the feathered creatures got into trouble one too many times at a nearby school.

You can read more on the story here.

So far, looks like readers are siding with the Hodosh family on this one. What are your thoughts?

WTF?! excuse the language but huh? a danger to what? These are birds. do they expect them to clip their wings or break their legs?
how bout the wild turkeys that decent upon us and stroll across the streets during oct/nov?

I’m a newcomer to Rockland from Yonkers. A large part of what I love living here for the last 2 years is that eclectic mix of suburbia and country. It’s a shame that a little inconvenience seems to be the end of the world in Montebello. I frequent the dog park across the street from Viola and enjoy seeing the wildlife that lives here. I never realized that the peacocks belonged to someone. I will miss seeing them because until I spotted them one day,the only time I had seen a peacock was in the Bronx Zoo
